Arlene Martell Interview

Filed under: Affiliate Marketing — Paul Harris @ 9:44 pm

If Your Looking To Quit Your Day Job By Becoming A Full Time Affiliate — Increase Your Productivity By Taking A Break!

James
Martell, Successful Affiliate Marketer and Natural Search Expert
Talks with His Wife Arlene About the Affiliate Lifestyle!

As an affiliate marketer, you work
for yourself and one of the countless benefits this lifestyle holds
is that you can take vacations, or as James and Arlene call them,
“break-ations,” any time you want.

You can work remotely, stay on top
of your online publishing business from anywhere there is Internet
access, and enjoy downtime with family and friends. And, as
listeners to this fun, informative Coffee Talk are about to learn,
even long-weekend “break-ations” leave you refreshed, revived and
ready to hit the ground running when you return, making them an
absolute necessity.

Of course, you can follow the
Martell’s lead and “book-end” any industry conference (such as CJU
or Affiliate Summit) and stay in fantastic cities a few days before
or after these events, and take advantage of great conference rates
and the tax write-offs.

As the Martell’s have learned, in
preparing for their own “break-ations,” be it long weekends or one
or two full weeks away, they can handle a larger workload and even
the day-to-day stresses better when they know a “break-ation” is
around the corner.

For them, this includes relying on
a whiteboard where they add everything thing they need to get done
before they leave. “Checking those tasks off is so rewarding,”
Arlene explains.

Then, when they return, they find
they feel better and can jump back in with renewed energy and a
fresh perspective.

Affiliate Marketing Training
But, with four children, travel
can be very expensive and as most listeners already know, James and
Arlene work together and prefer to do their travel as a family. In
fact, it’s one of the reasons James started his at-home business.

In this Coffee Talk, Arlene, who is responsible for planning and
booking the family “break-ations,” shares her resources and personal
tips for saving time on airfare and accommodations and tells of her
infamous $20 trick that once landed the couple a $600-per-night
room.

You will also learn more about some
of the Martell’s favorite “break-ations,” including a Caribbean
cruise that brought the entire family a huge surprise: a visit to
the film set of Pirates of the Caribbean II.

Hear all about what it took to get
Arlene involved in James’ affiliate business (just imagine writing
500 articles) and how the “break-ations” have enriched their
relationship, their lives, their children’s lives and even their
business.

As an affiliate marketer, you work
hard, so make time to play just as hard. You’ve earned it and the
Martell’s show you how.

It’s all about “break-ations” and
everything you need to know to take your first “break-ation” is
right here – from the motivation needed to get you out the door to
how to find the very best deals, this husband-wife team share it
all, including the story behind Arlene showing at a conference event
in a fluffy white robe (with other robe-clad wives in tow).

I Met Woody Maxim

Filed under: Affiliate Marketing — Paul Harris @ 1:18 am

This past weekend I attended the Traffic Tactics Workshop, put on by Dr. Mike Woo-Ming.

It Rocked!

Every one of the speakers delivered great content without heavy product pitching. And I got to meet Woody Maxim.

We hung out in the bar and he gave me some fantastic affiliate marketing advice. He is definitely someone who knows what he is talking about. In fact, you should check out his blog at www.woodymaxim.com. You should also get a subscription to his printed newsletter, Maximum Overdrive.

I was one of the very first subscribers and in the two issues he has put out so far, the content is vastly superior to most other internet marketing stuff.

Let’s see… some of the speakers included Jerry West and Howie Schwartz, who blew me away with their cutting edge SEO knowledge.

They also had Marc Harty talk about Press Releases (which I need to start using more), and Jack Humphrey, who spoke about building Authority sites.

Mike Koenigs really opened my eyes to the endless possibilities of using video for affiliate marketing ( I have already used video a little bit, but he showed what tremendous opportunities still remain).

Tim Gorman made me feel like a total slacker. Here is a guy who is a U.S Army captain, working 16 hour duty days who then comes home and puts in another 3 hours of work on his article marketing business. He likes to joke that he’s a “caveman”, but the truth is the guy is smart, super generous in helping others, and has a work ethic I can only wish I had.

Keith Baxter also spoke and got me to think about paid traffic in a way I had never thought about before. It was mind-expanding, to say the least.

I am super glad I attended this workshop. If you get a chance to go to any events put on by Dr. Mike, I highly recommend you go, as they are always top-notch with fabulous content.
